My Morning Routine

How do you start your day?

I'm one of those people who enjoys the start of a new week, but still, it takes me a moment to shift my gears over to the work week. Most morning look like this:

  1. Wake Up (Most days at 6:30am to the warm glow of my Hatch Restore 2 alarm clock)

  2. Gratitude Practice (I do this before I get out of bed)

  3. Brush Teeth / Dress to Work Out (Morning workouts are best for me)

  4. Make Bed

  5. Coffee (Ryze Mushroom Blend first, then a double shot espresso)

  6. Meditate / Pray

  7. Workout

  8. Breakfast (Aiming to get 30 grams of protein with each meal!)

  9. Review calendar and set daily priorities

On Mondays though, I employ a "never miss a Monday" mentality. For me, Mondays set the tone for my week, mentally and physically. This means that reviewing my calendar, getting organized around my business, setting my priorities, and working out are all critical elements for a successful week overall. I work hard not to schedule meetings or calls on Mondays, and make sure I find time outside in nature with Milo and Noodle.

I know "morning routines" get a lot of hype around the internet but for me, it's more about finding a structure that enables me to start my day off with gratitude and a sense of calm that's grounded in good organization — and I adjust it throughout the seasons.

I'm curious, do you have a morning routine?  How do you feel about this trend?  And what do you do to set yourself up for success at night?  If I know my morning needs to start earlier than normal, I shift a lot of my routine to the night before.
